FAQ - Harness coats

What size harness coat does my dog need?

Measure your dog's neck and chest circumference with a flexible tape measure and compare them to our size chart on the respective product page. For the right back length, most coats also come in a "Long" version in addition to the standard size.

Which dogs are the harness coats suitable for?

Our harness coats are designed for small to medium-sized dogs - from Chihuahuas to Dachshunds, French Bulldogs and Schnauzers. You'll find which breed fits which size in the size chart on the respective product page.

What material are the harness coats made of?

The material varies by style: some coats have a weather-resistant, coated outer fabric for rain and wind, while others are made from warming wool-blend fabrics in a classic loden or check design, usually with a soft inner lining. The exact material composition is listed on each product page.

How do I wash and care for the harness coat?

Most coats are hand-washed or machine-washed on a gentle cycle at 30°C - no bleach, ironing, spinning, or fabric softener. After a walk, we recommend hanging the coat up to dry, then brushing it with a soft brush in the direction of the fur. You'll find exact instructions on the respective product page or our care guide page.

What's the difference between a harness coat and a regular dog coat?

A harness coat has a built-in strap with a D-ring, so you can attach the leash directly - no separate harness needed. A classic coat, on the other hand, only offers weather protection, without its own leash attachment.

Do I still need a separate harness?

No. The built-in strap with D-ring replaces a separate harness - you can clip the leash straight onto the coat. The Velcro closure is secure and holds reliably, even during play.

Are the harness coats waterproof?

It depends on the style: some of our harness coats are designed as rain coats with a waterproof, windproof outer fabric, while others are more of a warming transitional or winter coat without explicit waterproofing. Whether your chosen style is suitable for rainy weather is listed on the respective product page.

When should my dog start wearing a coat?

Small, short-haired, and older dogs, as well as breeds with little undercoat, get cold outside faster. A coat makes sense as soon as it's cool, wet, or windy, or if your dog is shivering or hesitant during walks.

What's the difference between the standard and the "Long" version?

The standard and Long versions differ only in back length - the fit around the neck and chest stays the same within a given size. The Long version suits dogs with an above-average back length within the same size.

Can I return or exchange the harness coat if the size doesn't fit?

Yes, standard sizes can be exchanged under our return policy (details on our returns page). If you have questions about the right size, feel free to contact us via WhatsApp or email beforehand.
