Description

The woof & wiggle Polartec® fleece wrap is a new hybrid product, combining the best features of our jumper and our cape. It is easy to pull on and off and keeps your dog dry and warm, also the belly. Because the woof & wiggle Polartec® fleece cape is absolut rainproof, breathable, comfortable and washable! The wrap can be adjusted easily with a velcro® fastener. A dogs harness can be worn above the wrap.

For our Polartec® Fleece Wraps we only use original Polartec® Fleece 200 with DWR impregnation and no environmentally harmful PFCs. The DWR impregnation applied by Polartec® can be easily refreshed by simply washing and using moderate heat. To reactivate the impregnation we recommend the following procedure:

First wash the garment according to the care instructions. Then air dry
After drying, put the garment in the tumble dryer for 20 minutes (on a gentle cycle and not too hot, of course) to reactivate the permanently water-repellent impregnation of the outer material
If you don’t have a tumble dryer, you can also iron the dry garment at a low temperature (warm, without steam). But be sure to place a towel or cloth between the garment and the iron. The heat reactivates the DWR impregnation of the outer material.

Finding the right size
The available sizes equal your dogs back length in cm. So simply measure your dogs back and chose the desired cape length for your buddy. Slim dogs and especially Dachshunds obviously better chose the “slim” version.

What size fleece wrap does my dog need?

Measure your dog's back length as well as neck and chest circumference with a flexible tape measure and compare them to our size chart on the respective product page. For slender, long-backed dogs like the Dachshund, we generally recommend the "Slim" cut.

Which dogs is a fleece wrap especially suited for?

The wrap is fastened at the side with Velcro instead of being pulled over the head. That makes it especially pleasant for dogs that find it hard or unpleasant to be dressed over the head - such as older dogs, dogs with joint issues or a sensitive back, and anxious dogs.

What material are the fleece wraps made of?

The material varies by style: some wraps are made from soft knitted fabric, others from genuine Polartec® fleece with a water-repellent coating. Select styles additionally have an extra-durable belly panel. The exact material composition is listed on each product page.

What's the difference between a wrap and a classic dog sweater?

A sweater is pulled over the head, while a wrap is wound around the body from the side and fastened with Velcro. This is quicker, less stressful for the dog, and especially suitable in situations where dressing over the head is uncomfortable or difficult.

How do I wash and care for the fleece wrap?

Care varies by material: some wraps are simply machine washable, while others with a water-repellent coating need a short low-heat tumble dry or careful ironing after washing to preserve the coating. The exact care instructions are listed on the respective product page.

Can I put a harness on over the wrap?

Yes, a regular harness can generally be worn over the wrap without any issue, since it doesn't build in a fixed harness construction but simply offers warmth and protection that sits close to the body.

Are the fleece wraps waterproof?

It depends on the style: some wraps have a water-repellent coating and work well in rainy weather, while others are more suited to dry, cool days. Whether your chosen style is rain-resistant is listed on the respective product page.

When should my dog start wearing a fleece wrap?

Small, short-haired, and older dogs, as well as breeds with little undercoat (like the Dachshund), get cold outside faster. A wrap makes sense as soon as it's cool, wet, or windy, or if your dog is shivering or hesitant during walks.

What does the "Slim" cut mean and who is it for?

The Slim cut is narrower than the standard size and is especially suited to slender, long-backed dogs like the Dachshund. At the same back length, the wrap then sits closer to the body and shifts less.
